Get strong after 40

Build real strength in your 40s and beyond, training around a career and a body that has been neglected, with personal training in Liverpool Street, London.

Strength After 40

Getting strong after 40 is not about chasing what you did at 25. It is about building strength that serves the next few decades: joints that move well, muscle that protects you, and the energy and confidence that come with both. For busy professionals who have trained on and off for years, this is often the most rewarding training of their lives.

The approach is built around your real starting point, not an idealised one. Strength is loaded deliberately, mobility is trained so the joints keep up, and recovery is respected because it matters more now than it did at 25. Jasper works with a lot of people in exactly this position, and the programme is designed to fit a demanding week rather than fight it.

What's involved

  • An honest assessment first, so load and pace are matched to a body that may have been neglected
  • Strength built gradually, with technique and recovery respected, not ego-led numbers
  • Mobility trained alongside the strength so the joints keep pace, backed by Functional Range Conditioning
  • A schedule that fits a demanding career, usually two to four sessions a week
  • Nutrition and lifestyle support for the body-composition changes that get harder after 40

Common
questions

Is it too late to build strength after 40?

Not at all. Strength and muscle respond to training well into later life, and many people make their best progress in their 40s and 50s because they finally train with structure. The approach is scaled to your starting point, so you build safely and steadily rather than against a standard from twenty years ago.

I have old injuries and niggles, can I still train?

Yes. Programmes are built around your history, and load is managed carefully so you train within ranges that work for you. Where something sits outside coaching scope, Jasper points you toward the right specialist rather than working around it, because your long-term capacity matters more than any single session.

How often do I need to train at this stage?

Most clients train two to four sessions a week, agreed at your assessment and built around a busy schedule. Consistency over a twelve-week block matters far more than intensity in any single session. Recovery is respected as part of the plan, because it carries more weight after 40 than it did at 25.
